We’re delighted to announce that, together with Cambridge Trust, Sookio has been shortlisted for the Digital Impact Award 2020 in the Education category.

Sookio’s work with Cambridge Trust has been shortlisted by the awards panel in the Best use of digital in education category.

Our longstanding client Cambridge Trust offers scholarships to exceptional international students to study at the University of Cambridge. With 19,000 students (and counting!) having benefitted from the Trust’s help, we’re particularly proud to be nominated for our work together.

Our work with Cambridge Trust

While already working on growing the Trust’s social media channels and enhancing their web copy, we shifted gears to an awareness raising campaign with a goal of reaching further 100,000 Facebook followers.

We strategically combined Facebook campaign advertising and engaging video content, which helped reach students in faraway places like Ghana, Nepal or Libya in a way that printed prospectuses just never would. This approach to digital communications led to 1130,000 increase in new Facebook followers and hundreds of lives being changed with the opportunity to study at the University.

“I am delighted that the work of the Cambridge Trust in supporting outstanding students is getting recognition by being shortlisted for one of these prestigious awards,” says Claire Lambert, Communications and Alumni Manager at Cambridge Trust, “it has been an amazing experience working in partnership with the team at Sookio, and seeing the impact of those efforts on those we would not have previously reached.”

Indeed, the impact of the Trust’s work has an incredible ripple effect; it opens up a world-class seat of learning to people who otherwise wouldn’t get this opportunity, and who then take their learning back to their home countries, encouraging others to follow in their footsteps and spreading education in disadvantaged and hard to reach places.

"It's such an honour to work with the Cambridge Trust," says Director Sue Keogh, "Without whom brilliant students from around the world would never achieve their dream of studying at the University of Cambridge. The awards nomination shines a light on their inspiring work, which has more and more impact as each year passes.”

When the pandemic struck and we couldn’t go out to shoot fresh footage, we put together this promo by repurposing the Trust’s high quality imagery and creating a new piece of content. This enabled their brilliant comms team to share the video widely in a round of Facebook ad campaigns.
